How to Defeat Overthinking?
What is Overthinking?
Overthinking is a most common symptom in today’s world. Even every single human being is become over thinker at some point of their lives. It actually happens, when someone thinks too much about something or to put too much time into thinking. In other words, you can say analyzing something in a way that is more harmful than helpful.
Once Joel Annesley said,
“When you’ve had a life of over thinking, you have the same reaction time and time again. Shyness becomes habitual. When you’re put in an unfamiliar situation, all you want to do is retreat and hide by default. You watch but don’t participate, You listen but don’t respond, You read, but rarely comment. You take a photo, but you rarely post, You write, but you rarely publish. All of this is because your over thinking mind cannot stop thinking about how you will be perceived by the outside world.”
It simply means over thinking steals joy of the person’s life in real context. As a result, human became dull and dry.
Truth About Overthinking
Although there is a certain believe that women over thinks more than men, but that is all myth. The truth is everyone over think at a specific period of their lives. People believe that they can solve the problems through thinking deeply about it. But, in fact, it does not result in any real or actionable solution. In reality, problems sometimes become more intensified or troublesome when you dwell on them.
The worst thing, these repetitive thoughts don’t allow for new, healthier perspectives to take hold in a person’s mind. It can lead to emotional distress and the possibility for developing unhealthy and disturbed human mind. Moreover, the link between over thinking and mental health problems is directly proportional to each other. Over thinking disorder is like depression and anxiety which gradually turns the human brain into scrap.
Antidote to Overthinking
It supposes that over thinking causes mental health to decline. As your mental health declines, the more chances of you to over analyze. Then, cycle continue until unless a person fall into a critical mental disorder.
One of the most effective medication for overthinking is writing down your own worries or concerns. Just be honest with them.
YES…! It can be therapeutic.
Because through writing, your own feelings and emotions help you to decrease thoughts about negative events and improve your working memory. This practice literally frees up space in your mind for more creative thoughts and productive ideas and we all perfectly know that over thinking is not one of them.
Furthermore, to overcome over thinking, my personal perspective is to make yourself busy in doing something of your interest. You also surround yourself with positive people. Else, you can replace your thought with some productive ideas.

What if I tell myself to stop thinking about failure? What I am going to think about?
That’s right MY DEAR…!
If you don’t want to think about failure just cheer yourself up by imagining a bright success. Your mind immediately turns into positivity of success by eliminating negativity automatically.
Conclusion
Consequently, if we catch ourselves overthinking and than seeing it is out of our control or irresolvable, we determine our own strength, ability, credibility and reliance over something. Always remember that developing our struggle can change our perception of and relationship to problems. Rather than falling victim to them, we can shift our thinking so that we feel powerful and action oriented in relation to whatever challenge we are facing.
